Green INSTRUCT participated in seminar hosted by Brunel University on Monday 18 September 2017. The seminar was led by Dr. Ir. Raymond Wan, the Technical Director of Optimix Group Limited, Hong Kong & Faculty member of Hong Kong Green Building Council on Green Materials.
The principal and underlying theme of the seminar was about recycling and recovery, carbon footprint reduction through green material technology and urging for more international collaboration. Dr. Ir. Wan introduced the current status of green building technology in Hong Kong, explained the various government green labelling schemes for construction materials and touched upon the governments lucrative incentive schemes for building green. The seminar also included preliminary results on alkali activation technology from waste stream developed for sewage structures.
The Green INSTRUCT project was presented to Dr. Ir. Wan who showed great interest on its objectives and technologies. Additionally, Dr. Ir. Wan was interested to remain informed about the findings and the results of the project.
